Project 2 Landing Page

Project 2 Reflection:

Panel 1: Building this panel was fun and interesting. I feel as though I have a much better grasp on how to utilize grids, and I now feel as though I could build a passable website from just base bootstrap elements. Figuring out image sizing was a continual trouble for me and I beleive a way to fix it in the future would be to crop all of my images to the same size and aespect ratio ahead of time, rather than trying to bandaid the problem with CSS. I do think I know now how to make a visually appealing website, and once I learn some JavaScript, I think I could make something pretty special.

Panel 2: Working with a theme was pretty fun. I feel like I am now literate enough in HTML that I was able to fill in exactly where I wanted. Finding a template and downloading it was super easy, and will definetly be my preferred method of starting a site in the future. I do think I chose a pretty busy template to start with, so in the future I would instead choose to work with something more barebones. I am proud of how I was able to edit the Nav, but I do think the problems with image size persisted into this one as well.

Panel 3: Customizing the theme was a blast. I was definetly deliberately trying to make a funny looking website, that would match the tone of the images I was showcasing. I feel as though I really got to know the template inside and out. I do think that I will choose a template with multiple pages rather than one that has all the information on one page, but I do feel confident that I could customize any template now. The problems I had with image sizing in the first two iterations became most evident here, but what I have learned is that is is very much a "What goes in is what comes out" process. That is to say, I should just make sure the images are configured correctly ahead of time.
